Field Trips
Field trips are an integral part of the orchestra experience! See below for additional information about field trips offered for orchestra students.
6th Grade participates in the Carowinds Music Festival on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, 6:00am-10:30pm. Students will wear their orchestra t-shirt, school appropriate shorts, and comfortable shoes (tennis shoes recommended).
7th and 8th Grade travel to and perform in Orlando, Florida, April 6-9th, 2025.

11:30-12:00 - Lunch provided by Wando Orchestra (pizza, cookies, water/sodas)
12:00-1:00 - 8th Grade Clinic w/Silvestri and Wando Orchestra students on stage, 7th grade rehearsal in the orchestra room with Selby
1:15 - Depart for Laing
1:30 - arrive back at Laing

Concert Performance Assessment
The 2025 CPA is at Cane Bay HS.
March 18th, 2025
Transportation and lunch will be provided.
6th Grade Carowinds Trip:
Sixth grade orchestra students will participate in the Carowinds Music Festival on May 10th, 2025.

Carowinds Tentative Trip Itinerary: May 10th, 2025
6:00 am Students arrive at Laing Middle School.
Wear your Orchestra T-shirt, school appropriate bottoms, and tennis shoes.
6:30am: Depart Laing MS for Carowinds. We will leave promptly at 6:30am.
9:45am: Arrive at Carowinds, go through security
Picnic Lunch
1:00pm: Orchestra warm up
1:30pm: Performance in the Carowinds Theater
7:00pm: Meet inside the North Gate
7:15pm: Bus Departs Carowinds
10:30pm: Arrive back to Laing Middle School! Parents should be ready to pick up their student so everyone can head home in a timely manner.
7th & 8th Grade Orlando Trip:
Seventh and Eighth grade students will go to Disney World during the 2024-2025 school year.
